it hasn’t.
but it’s been longer than you think.
and while you were away, things changed.
not the judges—the names are different, but they’re basically the same.
not the singers—the faces are different, but they’re basically the same.
not the format—it’s been tweaked, but it’s basically the same.
not the controversies—the details are different, but they’re basically the same.
it’s you.
you’ve changed.
you’ve turned into the contestants’ parents.
